We live in a world where knowledge and technology underpin the very foundation of modern healthcare, where rigorous, evidence-based science has ensured we are living longer, more prosperous lives. But arguably such success comes at a price: healthcare professionals are often time-poor and frequently lack the support or specific skills to address an increasingly multi-morbid population. The need for healthcare professionals to work collaboratively and keep abreast of new data has never been so acute.
“The good physician treats the disease; the great physician treats the patient who has the disease”.
—Sir William Osler, Founding father of Johns Hopkins School of Medicine
